Music Friyay: Charles Mingus, Lau Lau, Taleen Kali
By Joanna C. Valente
Here’s some music, new and old, you should listen to and check out:
Charles Mingus - “Peggy’s Blue Skylight”
An old jazz favorite worth playing again and again.
Lau Lau - Poseidon
This 2017 album by Finnish musician Lau Lau is truly inventive and wonderfully experimental.
Taleen Kali - “Baby Love”
LA-based musician Taleen Kali, a favorite of ours, released this cover of “Baby Love” originally as a Valentine’s Day treat, but has been on repeat for me this week.
