Terrance Wedin: Endless Bodies
Bigger Splash
stripped the pool of summer days
learning to swim, sink, lounge
search tan legs down a chaise
build a diving board surrounded
by shrubs: this is where I found
endless bodies, warm
divorced of fantasy from breathing
chlorine and watching thunder hours
at the bottom, waiting for lungs
to adjust to the particulars
of treading in love young,
escape found later evenings
in empty apartments television
loud so our mistakes seemed quiet
disasters like lost bikini tops
and bottoms pale/burnt
promises left me wishing
for lightning to close me open
