Music Friyay: Sade, Amira Kheir, Eleanor Friedberger
By Joanna C. Valente
Here’s some music, new and old, you should listen to and check out:
Sade - Love Deluxe
Don’t tell me this album isn’t the epitome of longing - and exactly what you should listen to during a romantic night. It’s crazy to think it was released in 1992.
Amira Kheir - View from Somewhere
This 2011 is a hidden gem. Kheir sings in Arabic, English and Italian, and often centers her music around her multicultural background and has been hailed the ‘Diva of the Sudanese desert’ by BBC World News.
Eleanor Friedberger - Rebound
Friedberger, of the Fiery Furnaces, is also an amazing solo artist. Her 2018 album is that perfect blend of poppy and introspective.
