Lena DeLeo: August 2018 Poet of the Month
Untitled
It's only in the morning
Two nights ago you stayed
If heaven is a daydream
I guess I'll be okay
I'm listening to the beach
The seagulls sound like rain
How could it be I'm floating
If I can't get past the sand
Will I be there when you dry off?
Or even when you change
I've tried a dozen oysters
You always taste the same.
