Music Friyay: O'Death, Slavic Soul Party, The Walkmen
By Joanna C. Valente
Here’s some music, new and old, you should listen to and check out:
O’Death - Outside
This folk-alternative band’s 2011 album is a strange gem full of unruly vocals and lyrics that will stick in your brain. My favorite: '“Black Dress.”
Slavic Soul Party! - Taketron
Eastern European and Balkan-style music, the band’s 2003 album is full of punchy beats. My favorite: “Baltika.”
The Walkmen - Heaven
The Walkmen was/is one of my favorite Brooklyn-based bands and their 2012 album is tender and melodic. My favorite: “The Witch.”
