Music Friyay: Mal Waldron, Piero Piccioni, Patti Smith
By Joanna C. Valente
Here’s some music, new and old, you should listen to and check out:
Mal Waldron - All Alone
Waldron’s 1966 album is a jazz classic and everyone should listen to it, even if you don’t love jazz. The way Waldron plays piano is otherwordly.
Piero Piccioni - Camille 2000 (soundtrack)
Piccioni was an incredibly prolific composer who created beautiful, unique, and multi-layered approaches to songs.
Patti Smith - Twelve
Who doesn’t want to listen to an album where Patti covers popular songs, like “Everybody Wants to Rule the World?” I know I do. It’s magnificent.
