Music Friyay: Lateef Dameer, Poor Moon, Alabaster DePlume
By Joanna C. Valente
Here’s some music, new and old, you should listen to and check out:
Lateef Dameer - Patterns and Moondragons
Dameer’s new EP is out and it’s a departure from his previous albums. It’s a bit more ambient and electronic, like you’re in a slow motion sci-fi movie. My favorite? “Tri Angles.”
Poor Moon - Poor Moon
This is a delightful collaboration between Fleet Foxes’ Christian Wargo and Casey Wescott and Christmas Cards’ Peter and Ian Murray from 2012. It’s an indie wonderland that is fun and easy to listen to.
Alabaster DePlume - To Cy & Lee: Instrumentals, Vol. 1
DePlum’s 2020 is a rare gift that combines old world sounds and new world aesthetic. The album almost sounds like a long, somewhat fraught lullaby.
