BLOOD

 

has returned

to stain my briefs

Six weeks without

a testosterone shot

will do that

 

Months will pass

before I can refill

my prescription

No health insurance

only makes this harder

 

I had to reuse

a dirty needle

for the last drop

knowing well enough

infection would follow

Anything to keep her,

the previous form

away

 

Ezra Mars is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago’s film program. He currently resides in his home state of West Virginia, where he is focusing on his work in film and poetry.

Kyle Valentine: It Is You

Kyle Valentine is the recipient of a Fulbright, and he is currently working on his first chapbook, Glossolalia.
