You Press Play on Your Life and People Walk Out of It

Smell the smiling freeze frames,

the highwire laughing

dubbed in when I yawn.

There’s something beyond a secret

and I think it sunk through me.

We’re laughing at things we don’t remember

and the fear gets a human mask.

Ask the turbulence to give us freedom

while we refresh it—

again and again.
