Check Out This Poem & Playlist for Adrian Ernesto Cepeda's Latest Collection
Here’s a playlist Adrian Ernesto Cepeda made for his latest poetry collection, Between the Spine, along with an accompanying poem.
Can You Feel the Grooves on This Side?
Press play, she commands,
watching our bodies sway
to the rhythmic fire, as her
most naked ripples ask Do I
Move You? Let me be
Your Nina, your Billie
puffing poetry on her
lips, mouthing you go
to my head resounding,
Let me smoke your cigarettes
after sex, sweet, sweet
as our traces redefine
desire lying between
the spine, her fingers
like needles etching
my Caramel skin
as the vinyl reminds
how she loves to go
slowly, in the morning,
she lives to spin
Cocoon, Flip me over
like your favorite record:
requesting to replay
her Karen O—all night,
can you feel the grooves
on this side? she demands…
I don’t want to feel another sound.
